Purchased this for my 2021 VW GLI S. Was not sure if it would fit because my car wasn't listed in fitment details. I can confirm, it does fit and works great. I only installed this to haul my 30lb mountain bike and rack. Would never haul anything other than that behind the GLI for fear of smoking the clutch. I also cut off the safety chain loops for a cleaner look and the fact that they will never be needed on this vehicle.
Hitch was great but the recommended wiring adapter was incorrect for my 2023 Jetta GLI. Had to send it back and get a generic one that was not plug and play like the one I got for my 2019 Golf GTI. Hope you have corrected this on your website.
Good quality hitch and it installed perfectly the great video they provided online. Only addition to video is that you use the bolts they send in the package (easy to overlook if you aren’t aware they are included and the video does not tell you to use new bolts). Also, the short instruction document lists the torque you need for the bolts. Thank you for the installation video - very helpful!
Step by step instructions perfect, hardest part was cutting the bumper and that wasn’t hard! This is my 3rd hitch install from etrailer.com, I need to get another one to put on my wife’s identical car.
Fantastic. Installation was a bit more intensive than some installs, but nothing bad. Took me just a bit more than an hour. I mostly use it for a bike rack but have also pulled a small tent trailer and a 5x8 garden trailer. Great hitch.
Hitch fit perfectly and the instructions were dead on. I've never removed body panels before, but it didn't seem hard. If you install this hitch on 2019 Jetta, just take your time and pry at the retaining clips gently. Once the screws and clips are removed/separated, the bumper almost falls off. You'll need a 2nd person or something to hold the hitch and bumper beam in place to insert the mounting bolts. I did it out on the street by myself and rested them on my legs. Difficult, but doable. Took me about 2 hours start to finish.

This is a fantastic "conceal type" Hitch that mounted behind the bumper. Looks better than OEM.

Great hitch receiver. Easy to install
There are chips in the paint that are obviously there because this is old stock. Not a big deal but worth mentioning if you think you’re getting something pristine.
Fortunate enough to have access to a lift, so the job took under an hour. However this is totally doable on the ground. Still should take about an hour with the right tools. Absolutely minimal bumper modification which is why i chose this hitch and it has a clean hidden look when all done. PERFECT!

Had to cut minor part of diffuser for MK 7 GLI (2020). Over all easy install. Great quality it holds a thule bike rack easily and has held about 60ish lbs tounge weight no problem.
I just got a new car, and I'm an avid biker, hence the need for a hitch.
There are two that work with the Volkswagen Jetta. I didn't realize that, and I ordered the inferior one. My mistake. I got a message to eTrailer on a weekend, hoping they could cancel my order before they shipped it to avoid the re-shipping hassle. Not only did eTrailer cancel the order, but they placed the order for the correct hitch that same day. And they shipped it Saturday morning. I received it within three business days, so I can install and enjoy transporting my bike on the bike rack without damaging the trunk of the Jetta. Very grateful.
I installed this hitch on a 2019 VW Jetta. I love the way this hitch has such a clean look when it is installed. The bar is up behind the bumper fascia leaving only the receiver exposed, which also maximizes ground clearance. It takes more time to install than the ones with an exposed pull bar, but I feel it is worth it.

I have it mounted to the back of my 2019 R-Line Jetta. The hitch is tucked away and does not stick down much or out at all. Was super easy to install, worst part was me not wanting to snap the plastic tabs on the bumper, but I took my time and had it completely done and cleaned up in under 2 hours and I was taking it real slow and wasn’t putting much effort into it. Will be nice on road trips and I can put a carrier on it, and fold down the back seats so the dogs can have extra room
Great product, follow the video and installation will be a breeze also wanted to say that even tho vw doesn't want people to tow with a jetta I have and I drove 2500 miles from FL to ny with 1100 pounds (trailer +harley) also with my wife and kid in the car and didn't have an issue. I drove a 2019 jetta s 6 speed
Worked perfectly for my 2021 Jetta GLI. Take your time with the tail light screw covers and removing the rear bumper. I also used a cutting wheel to trim my bumper and it came out real clean.
Easy install, durable, easy to use saves my paint from a trunk mount bike rack!
Product was well packed and arrived in good condition. I haven't had it installed yet. I will have a better idea once I have used it..
